Summer Natural Makeup Favorites
I am the furthest person from a makeup influencer, but I have recently fallen in love with my makeup routine. During the summer (and pandemic) my vibe has been very no-makeup makeup, a natural look. Since I have combination skin that can be a little acne prone I am very picky about what face products I use and have been extremely happy with these products:
Laura Geller Baked Balance-N-Brighten Foundation (in Medium): This is a very buildable foundation that doesn't apply cakey like a lot of powders do. It does a good job at covering redness, though I wouldn't rely on it solely to cover a blemish. I've read that this foundation (and a lot of Laura Geller products) aren't great for acne prone skin as it's geared towards more mature customers, but I haven't had a problem with this foundation breaking me out.
ELF Eyebrow Kit (in Dark): This has been a holy grail product for years. I go through phases of using the wax or powder individually, but when I want to look especially put together I'll use them together. I apply it with an angled brush and it stays put and looks great all day long.
Milk Makeup Kush Lip Balm (in Nug): This lip balm is the best. I don't wear lipstick often because nobody can see my lips with a mask on at work, but this is nice to have in my bag to quickly apply if I'm going to see friends. It is moisturizing and sheer with a little shimmer and is nice and minty.
Glossier Skywash (in Echo): This is a really buildable brown that I like to use as a sheer wash across the lid. It lasts even through sweating and is something that I can do in a couple seconds before running out the door.
Lorac Unzipped Eyeshadow Palette: This is my favorite palette during the summer. It's a lot of beautiful peachy shimmery shadows that are perfect for when I want to put a little more effort into my makeup than just the skywash. I also love the matte shades in this palette and think it would be a great neutral palette for traveling.
I also use a mascara and black pencil liner on a daily basis, but I haven't found a holy-grail of either of those products. I'm currently using a Covergirl mascara and a ELF pencil liner, but if anyone has product suggestions for either let me know!
