The Lazy Girl's Fall Hair Routine

I have been a big beauty and fashion girl for most of my life, but hair was never my focus. It wasn't until very recently where I started actually using good haircare products and styling my hair. I am a pretty low maintenance person. My hair is thick, coarse, and wavy with a tendency to get really poufy if I brush it too much or the humidity is too high. I feel like I've gotten my routine to a point where it's not taking too much time out of my week and my hair looks better than ever. Here is what I do:

1) Wash hair with Ouai detox shampoo and deep condition

The Ouai detox shampoo has been a huge game changer for me. I live in a place with really hard water and was starting to notice that my hair felt weighed down and slightly greasy even right after I showered. Since switching to this shampoo, my hair feels soft and light. I also follow it up with a deep conditioner. Not naming a particular one because I've been switching between a few deluxe samples and feel like I haven't found a standout yet. If you have fine or thin hair, I don't know that I would recommend these products because deep conditioner can weigh down hair and the detox shampoo might cause unnecessary dryness.

2) Detangle with Ouai leave in conditioner

This post is not an Ouai ad, I promise! I just really like their products and it works for me. I split my hair down the middle and spritz 3-5 times per side focusing mostly on the ends. I then give it a quick brush through to detangle. This leave in conditioner also doubles as a heat protectant so I feel good about using it right before blow drying.

3) Blow out hair

I have a round brush and have tried blowing my hair out that way, but honestly, it is so much easier to use the brush attachment on my Shark HyperAir and the end product looks nearly the same.  Depending on the day I either let my hair air dry until it is 70% dry or I will take the blow dryer without any attachment and just do a rough dry all over. After that, I section my hair into three horizontal sections and brush small sections out from underneath to get a slight beveled end. I work from the bottom up taking more time on the upper layers to get them nice and smooth.

4) Velcro rollers on curtain bangs

After blowing out my hair, it is mostly straight with just a little bend near the ends. I like a little more bend with my bangs so they frame my face better. I section my bangs in the middle (that's where I part my hair), then I brush each half up and roll away from my face. I then blast the rollers with heat and leave it for as long as I can. After I take the rollers out, I give it a little brush to loosen the waves.

In the days after...

I don't really have an oily scalp so I skip dry shampoo and can still get 3-4 days out of my hair this way. Depending on what I want, I might also use other products. I like a hair oil (Ouai or Olaplex are my favorites) on the ends if they feel dry. If I want a little more texture, after everything is done I will spray a little Ouai Wave Spray on my hands and scrunch it through my hair to make it a little more piecey and cool.

Let me know what your holy-grail hair product or tool is in the comments. I think mine might be the Shark HyperAir or the Ouai detox shampoo.
