Starbucks Summer Paradise Pineapple Passionfruit Drink Review

 

Today I went to Starbucks during my lunch break and tried the new paradise pineapple and passionfruit drink. Since it is new and I hadn't heard much about it, I thought I would share my thoughts in case any of you are interested. 

I ordered the paradise drink, which is the pineapple passionfruit refresher with coconut milk (similar to the infamous pink drink). I ordered mine without the freeze dried pineapple as I prefer my drinks to not have chunks in it, but I think the standard recipe comes with a couple scoops of it. The drink is very sweet and overwhelmingly pineapple. It tastes like pineapple juice and is tart, but the coconut milk makes it really smooth and easy to drink. It does not taste much like passionfruit to me at all. Like the other Starbucks refreshers, it does contain caffeine with a grande has about half as much caffeine as a cup of coffee. 

I think of the refreshers this is my favorite flavor. It is something different and perfect for the summertime. I might consider getting this instead of an iced tea, but if I really want caffeine I would go for a cold brew instead.
