No-Heat, Low Maintenance, Summer Hair Routine
Summer is my favorite time of the year for hair. It is the perfect time for me to take advantage of my natural waves and stop using damaging heat. I thought that I would share my current hair routine with you all as well as some products I've been loving.
I only wash my hair ~three times a week depending on if I'm in the water or sweating. A couple years ago I switched to shampoo bars as a more sustainable alternative to shampoo in plastic bottles. I have tried multiple of the Unwrapped Life shampoos from Package Free and my current favorite is the Balancer. The same company also makes conditioner bars, which I have and use, although it does not condition as well as a normal rinse out conditioner.
After I get out of the shower I brush through my hair and use the Ouai leave-in conditioner. I have been nursing a travel size version of this product for months now and will definitely repurchase once I run out! My hair is layered with the longest parts being shoulder blade length and I use four to five spritzes mainly on the ends. This product is scented with a light floral scent that stays around for days, which is something to note if you're sensitive. I then let my hair air dry, preferably overnight.
The next morning I take a little bit of hair oil. I have been switching between Olaplex No7 and the Ouai hair oil and I find both of them equally nice. The Olaplex is amber colored and might tint hair if you are super light blonde and the Ouai one is floral scented, although the scent of the oil disputes much faster than the conditioner.
...and that's it! I find that this routine lets me have nice hair for three or more days and also helps accentuate the natural waves that I already have. Let me know in the comments what your holy grail hair products are!
