What I Bought January 2022 - Sunglasses, Underwear, and Bikinis
I am coming off of a very expensive holiday season and am trying to curb my online shopping addiction this year. In an attempt to hold myself accountable to shopping less while also sharing some new finds with you all, I've decided to start a monthly series about the fasion/beauty/home decor items I've bought in a month.
Bikinis from Toast Swim
Most of my swimsuits are at least a couple years old, some are even from high school 7 years ago! I was in need of a little refresh and Toast was doing a sale on some of their older styles. This company is eco-conscious and uses minimal shipping and recycled materials in their swimwear. I got two sets one in the shade desert sage which is a mint color and the other in red orange, which definitely looks more orange. They feel really high quality, the bikini tops are unpadded, which I like but is worth noting if you choose a more sheer color. I am a 32C and got a small in the triangle and a medium in the scoop. Neither top is particularly supportive or something I'd do real physical activity in, but they fit well and have a lot of stretch and are forgiving. Overall really happy, but will update once it's warmer and I try the out!
Frank Square-frame Gold-tone Sunglasses - Ray Ban (from Net-a-porter)
When I was in Hawaii over Christmas I came to the realization that my sunglasses (Quay High Key Minis in black) weren't really doing it for me anymore. They weren't staying on my face well and I wanted to change it up. I found a really good deal on these sunglasses from Net-A-Porter and got them for $77 when the original cost is $154. They are really flattering on my face, seem high quality, and I like that they're gold because I'm almost always wearing some sort of gold jewelry. I don't know if I'd pay full price for them, but on sale they are a steal!
Most of my underwear is from Victoria's Secret and need to be replaced. I really just wanted some basic cotton hipsters, bikinis, and thongs and I heard good things about Soma. They were having a really good sale, 6 for $39 plus 25% off so I got a dozen pairs and stocked up. I haven't tried this brand before, so I'll see how I like them, but I'm also not picky about my underwear so I'm sure it'll be fine.
That's all the non-essential spending I did this month! Overall, really happy with everything. The underwear was a necessity, the bikinis were a luxury, and the sunglasses were somewhere in between. Let me know what your favorite purchase of the month was in the comments below! Mines is definitely the sunglasses.
