5 Favorites from July 2021

It's been a month since I've started posting consistently here again and I've been really happy. I thoroughly enjoy writing about the things that I love and it makes me happy to think that someone out there in cyberspace might like reading my posts. That being said it's the start of August (my birth month!) so it's time for me to share favorites from July.

1) Tinted Lip Balm

I'm still wearing a mask at work and haven't wanted to wear lipstick because what's the point when no one will see it? I have, however, been loving a tinted lip balm. It provides just a hint of color that makes me feel a little more put together walking around maskless outdoors but is also functional and provides hydration when no one can see it. My favorites have been Glossier Balm Dot Com in Mango (super sheer, barely any color), Milk Makeup Kush lip balm in Nug (shimmery nude), and Burt's Bees tinted lip balms.

2) Vintage Denim

I've heard for years that the best jeans were vintage, but have never bought a pair for myself. Last month I bought my first vintage pair: white label straight leg faded Levi's, and I love them so much. It is the softest pair of jeans I own and it fits me perfectly. My pair was from Windy Peak Vintage, but I would highly recommend hunting in person so you can try it on before you buy!

3) Living the Country Life

For the Fourth of July I went to my boyfriend's family home in Michigan. The whole weekend was spent picking wild black raspberries, fishing, and sitting around a bonfire. We even went swimming in a lake, went on his friend's pontoon boat, and I shot my first (pellet) gun. All in all it was nice embracing a slower life even if it was just for a weekend.

4) Portland Leather Goods Bags

I've done a full review of Portland Leather Goods on the blog (you can read it here). I have a few bags from them, but the three that I use most often are the laptop backpack in nutmeg and the full crossbody in honey. I switch between them for work and they are both beautiful bags. They are truly workhorses, indestructible, and make any basic outfit look so much nicer. I've been trying to be quality instead of quantity and these feel like buy it for life bags and make me just a little more excited to go to work each day.

5) Ettitude Bamboo Sheets

I received a pillowcase from ettitude a few seasons ago in a Causebox and loved it so much I purchased a full sheet set. During the last week of July I had a pretty bad case of tonsillitis and spent a lot of time in my bed sleeping or just lounging and reading because I didn't want to do anything else. I've had my ettitude sheets since the spring and they are holding up beautifully and are so soft and cool to sleep in.
