5 Summer Trends Worth Trying

It has been in the high 90s lately and it's been really feeling like summer! I thought it would be fun to do a fashion-forward post because lately the content has been more lifestyle geared. Here are five of my favorite trends for the summer as well as some pieces I'm loving. 

1) Paper Bag Shorts
I think that this is such a flattering look! It's a little more dressy than denim shorts and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion! The best thing about this trend is that it is so easy to wear. Just throw on a solid colored bodysuit or tank top and some sandals and you're set! 

2) Statement Sunglasses
I am always down for a statement pair of sunglasses, but it is especially great during the summer! If you go for a colored reflective lens, it also adds a pop of color to an otherwise basic outfit!

3) One Piece Swimsuits
One piece swimsuits have been making a huge comeback lately! Whether you go for a high leg retro style swimsuit or one with some fancy cutouts, it is totally possible to find a one piece that flatters your body. I also love one piece swimsuits paired with high waisted shorts for a cute beach day outfit. 

4) Stripes and Linen
Linen is the best summer fabric! It is light, breezy, and always looks amazing! Stripes and linen are a girl's best friend. It looks classy, and summery, and is another trend that can be dressed up and down. My favorite ways to wear this trend include shorts, button down shirts, or wrap dresses!

5) Maxi Dresses
I don't know if I'd say that maxi dresses are a trend specifically for summer, but I love the idea of wearing a long flowy skirt during the warmer months. This is a trend best suited for longer legged girls unless you want to hem a dress or wear heels, but it is so flattering. Maxi dresses also always make you look put together even if you only spent 5 minutes getting ready.
