What I'm Reading Novermber 2017
I really need to get back into reading more. I am really far from my 17 books that I wanted to complete this year, so I'm giving it a final push these next two months. Here are the books I'm reading this month as well as the ones I read last month.
This Month's Books:
Big Sur - Jack Kerouac
I've been working on this book for a while, but it has been a difficult book for me to read. Kerouac's prose is rough and doesn't follow the normal syntax. I'd like to finish this book because it's somewhat a continuation of On the Road, which is a book that I really enjoy reading.
The Old Man and the Sea - Ernest Hemingway
I haven't read this book yet, but I wanted to read another classic and this seemed like a good one to read. It's a shorter book, but I'm expecting it to be difficult with lots of symbolism and motifs.
Last Month's Books:
The Sun Also Rises - Ernest Hemingway
This book has and always will be one of my favorites. I am not the biggest Hemingway fan (I'm more of a Fitzgerald person, myself), but this book is a classic. It's about disillusionment, love, and relationships in such an honest and relevant way despite being written decades ago.
If I have time, I'm going to try read more this month so I can get back on track to finish 17 books this year (my current count is 11/17), but at this point if I read 14 or 15 books this year I'll be happy. Let me know in the comments what you're reading this month and if you have any book recommendations!
