5 Minute Summer Makeup Routine

Summer is my favorite season for beauty because less is often more. I almost never wear foundation or concealer because I'd sweat it off in the heat and the natural tan that I have lets me get away with wearing minimal makeup. I've been doing a really quick makeup routine lately with some new and exciting products and I thought that I would share it with you!


First, I always fill in my brows. I love using the Elf Studio Eyebrow Kit. It comes with a wax and a powder and I like using both of them to make sure that my brows look good throughout the entire day. I am currently using the medium version of the kit, but I think that I might get the next shade darker once I run out. 

My newest obsession is the Maybelline Color Tattoo cream shadow in the shade Bad to the Bronze. I just use my fingers to apply this over the lid and along the lower lash line. A sweep of this gives just a hint of color and sparkle, but it can definitely be built up without looking cakey. I have oilier eyelids and it stays all day long and doesn't move around. 

I've been skipping eyeliner most days, but if I want a little more definition I'll take any dark colored eyeshadow and apply it onto of the cream shadow along the lash line as an eyeliner. I prefer this to using a cream or liquid eyeliner because it sets the cream shadow and has better staying power throughout the day. 

To finish if off I use a waterproof mascara. I'm a person that uses waterproof mascara year round because I do have oilier eyelids and I want to prevent color transfer from my lashes to my lids throughout the day. Lately I've been using the Maybelline Colossal Spider Effect mascara. In the past I've stuck to Covergirl for my mascaras, but this one was on sale at Target and I thought that I'd give it a try. I really like the way that it makes my lashes look, although the formula is a little wet at first. 

That's it for my everyday makeup! Just brows, eyeshadow, and mascara. Some days I'll add in a tinted lip balm or a little bit of highlighter, but this is what I'm wearing all day everyday.
