What I'm Reading: April 2017
One of my New Year Resolutions for 2017 is to read more books. Back in January I wrote a post with a list of 17 books I'd like to finish before the year ends, and every month this year I've done a post sharing the books I'm reading that month. I'm not going to lie, March was a slow month for me in terms of reading. I didn't finish the amount of books I would have liked to, so this month's post is going to look similar to last month's.
Last Month's Book: On the Road *unfinished
I still haven't finished reading On the Road, but I'm about half way through with it. Because I haven't finished it, I can't give you all my thoughts on the book, but I will say that I don't enjoy it nearly as much as I did the first time I read it. Maybe it's because I'm in a different place in my life, but the adventures don't seem aspirational to me as much as they seem idiotic and careless. This book is still beautifully written and has some of my favorite quotes ever and will always have a special place in my heart.
How to Win Friends and Influence People - Dale Carnegie
I wrote a little blurb about this in last month's post, but in case you missed that, I'll summarize it here. I want to read this book because I haven't really read any business or self help books yet this year. Communication is so important in my life and is something I think that I can learn to improve by reading this book.
Into the Wild - John Krakauer
I don't know if I'll read enough to get to this book this month, but in case I do, I thought I'd list it here! I want to read this book because I love the movie adaption of this book. It is probably one of my favorite movies of all time. I think the story of Chris McCandless is so fascinating and I've only heard great things about this book.
Let me know in the comments if you've read any of these books before or what books your planning on reading this month!
