My Top Ten Fridge Essentials

I've been cooking and baking for most of my life and I try to eat most of my meals at home. Today I thought that it would be fun to share ten of my fridge essentials to give you a little peak into my kitchen! I try to eat healthyish, but I'm still young and in college so that doesn't always happen the way I want it to. If you like this post, let me know and maybe I can do a couple more about freezer essentials and pantry essentials!

1: Lemons and Limes
This is like a two-in-one because sometimes I have lemons in my fridge, sometimes I have limes, and sometimes I have both. I love using a squeeze of citrus on a salad instead of dressing and it is so nice to have lemons and limes on hand. I tend to buy the small organic ones from Trader Joe's because they're cute and easy to slice in half to use!

2: Avocados
I am a huge avocado lover! I like slicing half an avocado and adding it to a salad, making guac, or avocado toast! I usually get a bag from Trader Joe's or Sam's Club to keep on hand because I go through avos so fast!

3: Coffee Creamer
Lately I've been getting the big thing of vanilla coffee creamer from Trader Joe's and keeping it in the fridge to have on hand! If you've read my post from last month, you'll know that I am experimenting with home coffee brewing and I found that having a good tasting creamer makes me more likely to stick with it!

4: Mixed Greens
I go through phases with the types of greens I like to use for my salad. A couple months ago it was spinach, then it was baby kale, and now it's mixed greens. I try to get a tub from Sam's Club once every three weeks and finish it all before it goes bad. It's just a good way for me to make sure I'm getting in enough greens in my diet.

5: Butter
I always have an excess of butter in my fridge! I love to bake and it is essential for me to have enough butter to whip up a baked good if the mood strikes! I also definitely prefer using real butter on toast or pancakes rather than margarine, so I always have a stick in the fridge.

6: La Croix
If you've read my last monthly favorites or the post about my ranking of La Croix flavors, you've probably come to the realization that I'm a tad bit obsessed with sparkling water. I like keeping a couple cans in the fridge just in case.

7: Rotisserie Chicken
To be fair, whether I have a chicken in my fridge or not really depends on the last time that I've been to Sam's Club or Costco. But nine times out of ten I'll have some form of a rotisserie chicken in my fridge. I love cutting it into chunks and tossing it on top of my salad for protein or shredding it for easy burritos or other meals!

8: Cream Cheese
I'm obsessed with the cinnamon raisin whole wheat bagels from Trader Joe's so I always keep a small container of whipped cream cheese in the fridge!

9: Eggs
Eggs are so cheap, they're great for breakfast and baking, and are something that is without fail always in my fridge. I'm not a huge egg eater, but I definitely go through a dozen before they go bad and love having them on hand in case I want breakfast for dinner or something like that.

10: Ketchup, Ranch, Sriracha
These are grouped because they're the condiments that are always in my fridge! I could eat anything with ketchup on it, need ranch for my pizza, and sriracha is so good in ramen or when I'm cooking asian food!

Let me know in the comments what your fridge essentials are and if you'd like to see the rest of my kitchen essentials in a future post!

  1. I enjoyed this post a lot. Trader Joe's is so awesome. Have you tried their Everything But The Bagel seasoning? It's so good on top of avocado toast and eggs.
