Summer Skincare Routine

I'm very low maintenance when it comes to my skincare, especially in the summer. It's been a while since I did a skincare post, so I thought that I'd share my daily skincare routine as well as special products I use!

Morning
I don't wash my face in the morning with soap as I feel like it strips too much moisture away from my skin and leaves me feeling dry and tight. I usually take some warm water and splash it on my face to "cleanse" it as much as I feel necessary. If there's any under-eye makeup gunk, I remove it with a cotton swab and some makeup remover. I skip the moisturizer because the humidity and heat can leave me extra greasy if I use moisturizer.

Night
I double cleanse at night. First, I use my hands to work in the cleanser. I am not at all picky about the cleanser that I use, and it usually is whatever is cheapest at Target or Walgreens. The second time I cleanse I use my Foreo Luna Mini to work in the cleanser. I double cleanse because the first round removes makeup, grease, and gunk, while the second time goes deeper and makes sure everything is removed. I usually use the Clinique moisturizing gel on my face as my moisturizer, but once or twice a week I'll skip the moisturizer and apply a sheet mask on my face instead. My favorite sheet masks are from Nature Republic. I especially love the green tea, tea tree, or chamomile ones. Most days, the cleanser is all I need to remove my makeup, but if I have a particularly stubborn lip or waterproof mascara on, I'll also use the Clinique makeup remover.

Beach
Whenever I go to the beach, I bring two types of sunscreen with me. I use a cream one (usually Neutrogena) on my face, and a spray one on my body. I don't love rubbing in sunscreen all over my body and I think a spray one is easier to reapply and gives me fuller coverage. Post sun, I make sure to moisturize my entire body heavily (if you burn, it prevents the flaking) and apply aloe if necessary.
