5 Reasons to Go to A Party Alone
For some, going to parties alone can be terrifying. Especially parties where you don't know many people. That was how I felt about going to parties alone a year ago, but now that's all changed. Here are 5 reasons to step outside of your comfort zone and head to a party solo.
1) You're on your own schedule
You don't need to try and time your arrival with your friends if you're all driving separately. You don't need to wait for your friend to get ready. You can leave the party whenever you want to. The night becomes all about you. What you want to do, how you want to spend your time, and who you want to spend it with.
2) You meet more people
Sometimes you go to a party with your friend, and your friend is really the only person you end up talking to the entire night. When you go alone, you lose the crutch and safety net that a friend can be. You end up forcing yourself to talk to new people, which is kind of the purpose of a party. And who knows? You might meet some really cool people.
3) You're independent
You are a badass independent person and you don't need to have someone with you at all times. This is just another way to flex your independence and prove to yourself that you can have fun alone.
4) You don't need to worry about someone else
Depending on the party and who you go with, you can spend a lot of time worrying about if your friend is having fun, if they want to go, if they've had too much to drink... If you're alone you don't have to constantly worry about someone else.
5) You want to
If you want to go out, and nobody wants to go with you, you should still go out. At the end of the day, you should do what you want to regardless of the people around you. So if you want to party, go party!
If I have a choice, I'd usually pick going out with a group of friends instead of going solo, but it's not a bad thing to go out alone. Most times I go out alone, people don't even realize that I came alone, and I always end up being glad I went out instead of staying home. Let me know if you like to go to parties alone and why (or why not) in the comments below!
